2023 Champion breeders Drakenstein Stud enjoyed an exemplary day at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth with five winners.
Symphony In White, the What A Winter half sister to Gr1 WSB Cape Guineas winner Snow Pilot, is now a two-time winner from three starts, owned and bred by Drakenstein who are currently second on the National breeders log.
The smart One Stripe, leading the way for Drakenstein’s first season sire One World, followed up with his second Gr3 on the trot for trainer Vaughan Marshall, who trained One World to his Gr1 Met victory. He won the Gr3 Winter Nursery by a length to give him his third win in a row from four starts, owned by Mr Sewgoolam. One World is producing over 40% winners to runners with an AEPR of R69,253 and two Black Type wins under the belt. It was the first of a double on the day for One World.
All Out For Six followed up for sire One World, again trained by Vaughan Marshall to give Drakenstein their third winner of the day. Out of Trippi mare Howl, is a winner in his third start for owners The One World Racing Syndicate (Nom: V Marshall).
Un Bel Di, by Querari and owned by L’Ormarins & Friends (Nom: Gaynor Rupert) gave Justin the first of a double on the day ridden by champion jockey elect, Richard Fourie. The juvenile gelding, again out of a Trippi mare, has been the picture of consistency, earning a cheque in all four of his previous starts and broke his maiden by three lengths.
Pacaya (Trippi) followed up with the second feature win of the day for Drakenstein, to take the Gr3 Legal Eagle Stakes from Rapidash. The five year old is owned by the Duke of Richmond Syndicate and give trainer Justin Snaith a double on the day.
