Beach Bomb At Breeders Cup

Drakenstein-bred Beach Bomb seen working at Del Mar this morning ahead of her tilt at the Breeders Cup Fillies & Mares Turf, where she is in training with Graham Motion.

A twice Gr1 winner in South Africa prior to her export earlier this year, she has placed in both of her American starts in Group company, and the daughter of Lancaster Bomber out of Beach Beauty looked outstanding.

Appropriately named for the course where the ‘surf meets the turf’, Motions team at home have stated they are really with happy how the filly has settled in, and she has come out of the quarantine “really well”.

She worked confidently on the Del Mar dirt and enjoyed a good look at the finish line.

Her dam Beach Beauty, by Dynasty, was crowned Equus Broodmare Of The Year in the previous season. Beach Beauty was covered by Trippi sire Jet Dark in 2023 for Drakenstein. The brilliant race filly in her day, is leaving behind a legacy which includes Wild Coast at stud in the Karoo.
